Chelsea Man and Van Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Chelsea Man and Van in respect of the current financial year. It sets out the actions we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly and to upholding the rights and dignity of every person who works with or for us.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Chelsea Man and Van maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. This policy applies to all employees, workers, agency staff, contractors and any other individuals or organisations who perform work for or on behalf of our business.
We expect everyone associated with Chelsea Man and Van to share this commitment. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy will be taken extremely seriously and may result in the termination of employment or contractual relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Chelsea Man and Van provides transport, removals and related logistical services. Our operations rely on a network of suppliers and service providers, including vehicle hire, fuel providers, equipment suppliers and labour agencies. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist at different points in these supply chains.
We aim to work only with reputable suppliers and partners who uphold equivalent standards of integrity, transparency and respect for human rights. Our objective is to embed awareness and prevention of modern slavery into our day-to-day decision-making and commercial relationships.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our approach to supplier management in relation to modern slavery. As part of our onboarding and ongoing review processes, we require key suppliers to confirm that they comply with all applicable modern slavery and human trafficking legislation and that they have appropriate policies and controls in place.
We reserve the right to request information from suppliers about their employment practices, recruitment methods, use of subcontractors and grievance mechanisms. Where appropriate and proportionate to the risk, we will conduct audits, site visits or structured assessments to verify compliance. Any supplier found to be involved in, or complicit with, modern slavery will face corrective action up to and including termination of the business relationship.
Training, Awareness and Employee Responsibilities
All employees are expected to act ethically and to remain alert to indicators of modern slavery. Managers and staff involved in recruitment, procurement or supplier management receive targeted guidance to help them identify potential risks, ask appropriate questions and escalate concerns promptly.
We encourage open communication and do not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith about suspected instances of modern slavery or human rights abuses.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Everyone working for or with Chelsea Man and Van is encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery at the earliest possible stage. Concerns can be raised with line management or senior management. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will treat all disclosures sensitively and fairly.
All reported concerns will be investigated promptly and thoroughly. Where appropriate, we will liaise with relevant authorities and take necessary remedial actions. We are committed to supporting anyone who raises a concern and to ensuring that they are not subjected to detrimental treatment as a result.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that the fight against modern slavery is an ongoing process. Chelsea Man and Van is committed to continuous improvement in our policies, procedures and due diligence practices. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement annually to assess the effectiveness of our actions, reflect changes in legislation or guidance and respond to any new or emerging risks identified in our operations or supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Chelsea Man and Van and will be updated and published each year to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business.
